Description

The project consisted of renovating and expanding the Child Development Center at the Grand Forks Air Force Base to bring the facility into compliance with current Air Force criteria and applicable life-safety, accessibility, security and building-code requirements. The existing facility was 13,640 SF, with about 2,520 SF of new additions, bringing the total building area to 16,160 SF. The work included a new secured entry and administrative addition, a new mechanical-room addition, interior renovations throughout the daycare and support spaces, accessibility and life-safety improvements, and upgrades to the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire-protection systems. Exterior work included utility improvements, paving, sidewalks, drainage, fencing, landscaping and a new 1,000 SF outdoor gathering area.
